Treasurer:
David Harvey

I volunteered for the role of Treasurer as I wanted to help develop the charity.

With experience as the Treasurer for my local Air Cadets, a local Railway Preservation group and Folkestone Rescue for the last 10 years, it’s a role I feel I can deliver well.

I am the Chief Executive of Folkestone Rescue and have been since the charity was formed.

I’m also heavily involved with Lions International, having been a member for many years and also have served as our local clubs President for three years and then took on the role of Zone Chairman, responsible for helping the growth of 5 clubs. Now I am regional Chairman overseeing 3 Zone Chairs covering 15 clubs.

I am boating officer of Ashford Sea cadets and the RYA Centre Principal of Folkestone sea sports, which tie in nicely together as I can facilitate getting young people onto the water safely.

I own and run a workwear & school uniform company in Folkestone with my wife and 5 employees, and have done so for nearly 20 years. This works well as I live 50 yards from work and the harbour is 100 yards in the other direction, so I am always local for shouts from the coastguard.

Finally, I am a RYA Powerboat Instructor with Safety Boat and a PWC Instructor so a lot of my time is around or on the water.
